About Melissa: Two things have been true my whole life...I love animals and the outdoors. A few years ago I quit "the corporate" world and backpacked from Mexico to Canada (via the Pacific Crest Trail). Upon returning to Chicago I was thrilled to land a job in outdoor recreation and started pet sitting part time. Now, its my full time gig and I couldn't be happier! When not pet sitting I like to get outside as much as possible (if you couldn't already tell!) for hiking, swimming, backpacking, kayaking - you name it! I also enjoy volunteering at PAWs and Urban Rivers. I love pet sitting because it brings together my love of animals and gets me outside and exploring my own city.

About Dan: My first best friend was a cat! True story! When I was born, besides having an older human sister, we had a family cat. She lived to be 20 which meant I had her around everyday from the moment I came home from the hospital to when I was about to go to college. I learned how meaningful the relationship with a pet was then and has only become stronger as time has gone on. Having that bond form so young, and then having had dogs, cats, fish, rabbits, and reptiles around my entire life and appreciating the unique energy each brings, it created a world that makes me appreciate animals in a special way. I love working with Mint Leash Club because I get to do two passions at once: I get to help people find their homes and build lifestyles as a Chicago realtor and help people have peace of mind when away from their pets as a pet sitter.
