Its SWEATER WEATHER time! And if you’re like me, there’s no better time to be chilling on a beautiful patio with a drink of your choice and with your pup at your side (or cat, I don't judge. If my cat would let me, we would definitely be hitting a patio together!). Think the nice weather is almost over? Nah…for me, its just starting!

Here are a few of my favorite dog friendly spots with outdoor seating. Just remember to keep your pup on a leash!

  • Half Acre – 2050 W Balmoral (Bowmanville) https://halfacrebeer.com/

    • Half Acre is top tier for me. (IMHO) the best brewery in Chicago. Amazing patio. Delicious food. And dog friendly. Honestly my paradise.

  • The Dock at Montrose Beach – 200 W Montrose Harbor Dr (Uptown) https://www.thedockatmontrosebeach.com/

    • What beats having a drink and bite ON the beach, next to one of the most beautiful lakes in the world? Weather dependent, The Dock is open into October. And the best part is its located just down the sand from the Montrose Dog Beach which is open 365 days a year.

  • The Bar on Buena – 910 W Buena Ave (Buena Park) https://www.baronbuena.com/

    • I affectionately call this spot BOBs. Great beer and cocktail list, and some delectable food specials. Their brunch is divine! Over the last few years they have done some beautiful work to their outdoor patio. I have seen and met many furry friends at this spot over the years!

  • Central Park Bar – 2924 N Central Park Ave (Avondale) https://www.centralparkbarchicago.com/

    • Their large, beautiful patio allows dogs up until 8pm! And this bar has one of the best happy hours in the city – half priced drinks 4pm-7pm Mon-Fri.

  • Pizza Lobo – 3000 W Fullerton (Logan Square), 5457 N Clark (Andersonville) https://www.pizzalobo.com/

    • Fun pizza creations, large drink list, and dogs on the patio…what could be better? I haven’t been to the one in Logan Square but I LOVE the patio in Andersonville on a hot summer night or cool fall afternoon.

  • Cody’s Public House – 1658 W Barry (West Lakeview) https://www.codyschicago.com/

    • Dogs allowed inside AND out! Perfect for a questionable weather day.

  • Burning Bush Brewery – 4014 N Rockwell (Horner Park) https://www.burningbushbrewery.com/

    • A great place to pass the time on a sunny fall afternoon! Their patio is right next to the river. This brewery makes some great beer. They have a few snacks on their menu and often has a food truck on the weekends. This spot is also dog friendly throughout the building, so bring your pup for trivia or music bingo nights!
